Rachel Bouffard (they/them) is a strength and powerlifting coach (USPA Powerlifting Coach Certified) with a diverse background in team/barbell sports whose main goals are to uplift their community and lift heavy. Growing up in San Diego, CA, Rachel was lucky to participate and train year-round in a variety of athletic pursuits through college. Rachel is a qualified and experienced fitness coach with coaching & athlete experience in Soccer, Rowing and now strength modalities.
After graduating from UC Santa Cruz ('12 BS - Physical Anthro/Physiology), Rachel found themself craving an athletic community that pushed them and found bodybuilding and CrossFit. Quickly realizing that heavy barbell movements were where they truly found joy, Rachel committed full time to powerlifting under coach Patrick Thomas here at Ironside! Years later, Rachel is a competitive 75kg USPA powerlifter and strength coach, and they are eager and ready to help other people find their home in strength just as Rachel has.
